What a puppy plan usually covers
- House routines and a comfortable crate or resting spot that make the first weeks calmer.
- Mouthing and chewing, with approved things to bite so hands and shoes survive.
- First leash walks on a loose line instead of pulling or lunging.
- Careful, positive introductions to new floors, sounds, people and weather.
- A few easy cues such as sit, down and come, practiced in tiny happy bursts.

Good questions
Before you begin.
When is a good time to begin?
Most trainers say to start once the puppy has settled in and your veterinarian has cleared outings. Building good habits is easier than undoing bad ones.
How long should a puppy lesson run?
Often thirty to sixty minutes. Because puppies tire fast, many plans split daily practice into several two or three minute sessions.
Can I teach a puppy without a trainer?
Many people do. A few guided lessons can still spare you months of guesswork and help you catch jumping or pulling early.
Is a puppy package worth it?
It can be, if you know what is included. Look at how many sessions you get, whether follow-up questions are welcome and what the total comes to.
